Sir Christopher Lee has died at the age of 93 after being hospitalised for respiratory problems and heart failure.
The veteran British actor, best known for a variety of films from Dracula to The Wicker Man through to the Lord of the Rings trilogy, passed away on Sunday (June 7) at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London, according to close family sources.
The prolific actor, who continued to work through nearly seven decades of stage and screen, is credited with nearly 300 roles on IMDB. He was knighted for his services to drama in 2009, receiving the BAFTA Fellowship three years later.
He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, former Danish model and painter Birgit Kroencke, and their daughter Christina.
We are deeply saddened at this news. Rest In Peace.
