Are you a fan of graphic novels, animation, or the history of comics in culture? Graphic is the festival for you!

Graphic is a festival hosted by the Sydney Opera House from the 28th of September to the 11th of October surrounding the world of graphic storytelling, animation and music. Running since 2010, this festival has attracted thousands of people, with some great names in these industry such as Neil Gaiman, Robot Chicken and Scott McCloud, just to name a few.

And this year is no different, with keynote speaker Kevin Smith presenting ‘Superhero Multiverse’ with special guest Jason Mews, a 2 hour discussion on the superhero movie crazy, the supposed bitter rivalry between Marvel and DC, and how his childhood obsession with comics brought him to where he is today. Kevin Smith is sure to be a great way to start this festival, and set the tone for the rest of the event.

In this festival there will also be talks and screenings with people working in the industries, including Nicola Scott female Australian artist that has done major work in DC, and is now working with Image, the premier screening of ‘The Mindscape of Alan Moore’ – a documentary surrounding the man who penned watchmen and v for vendetta amongst many others, and the premier of AMC’s The Walking Dead Season 6.

Many of the events are free, however there are some that are paid. For more information visit the Sydney Opera House website
