From a book sequel 50 years too late, to serious eye candy – here is the quick news from February 2nd to the 7th .

The start of February means the Superbowl to many sports fans, but to us film fans it means movie spot releases during the Superbowl ad breaks. Some of the films that featured were 50 Shades of Grey, Furious 7, Jurassic World, and Pitch Perfect 2. Check out the Furious 7 spot below and follow this link for the rest.

The first teaser trailer for Marvel’s new TV series Daredevil has finally been released. Starring Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, the show will be the first in a series of shows leading up to a Defenders miniseries. The entire series will be released on Netflix simultaneously in the US on April 10th. Many Marvel fans are hoping this series will redeem the character of Daredevil on screen after the 2003 film starring Ben Affleck.

Netflix is apparently in the early developing stages of a live-action ‘Legend of Zelda’ series. Legend of Zelda is on one of the most popular video games of all time, so this news will either make fans very happy or very weary. Netflix has said the series will be like Game of Thrones but for the entire family. Still looking for a writer, the series will still be a long way off.

Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence have had offers to star in a new sci-fi love story by Sony. Passengers will be set on a spacecraft that is making a century-long journey. The screenplay is by Jon Spaihts, who wrote Prometheus and has signed on to write Marvel’s Doctor Strange. The Imitation Game’s director Morten Tyldum has nearly closed a deal to direct this film. Pratt and Lawrence are two of the most beloved and busy actors of the past few years, so this film could be a great success.

Harper Lee, the author of Pulitzer Prize winning book, To Kill a Mockingbird, announced on Tuesday that she will be releasing a sequel to the famous book. Go Set a Watchman will be released in July this year and is set 20 years after the first novel. Featuring Scout as an adult, it will show the much loved character returning to her hometown of Maycomb to visit her father Atticus.

J. K. Rowling’s book The Casual Vacancy is being adapted into a miniseries by BBC and HBO. It has received a release date of February 15th in the UK on BBC One and April 29th in the US on HBO. Check out the trailer below.
