You best be sitting down, because we have some phenomenal Brooklyn Nine-Nine casting news: According to EW, Parks and Rec alum Nick Offerman will guest-star on an upcoming episode of the Fox comedy, titled ‘Ava’ in November. And what’s even better is that he’ll be playing Captain Holt’s ex-boyfriend.
I repeat: Nick Offerman and Andre Braugher will be playing (hopefully and most likely adversarial) former lovers. Oh boy oh boy oh boy!
Details of what brings Offerman’s character to town are not yet available, but it will no doubt be amazing. Hopefully he brings some of the gruff Ron Swanson charm.
Being that both Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Parks and Recreation were both created by showrunner Michael Schur, and that many comparisons have been made between the characters of Swanson and Captain Holt, this casting could literally not be any more perfect.
He joins a season 3 guest roster that includes Bill Hader, Dean Winters, Archie Panjabi, and Mary Lynn Rajskub.
Offerman can currently be seen on Season 2 of FX’s Fargo, and appeared on last week’s episode of The Muppets.
